We are learning about what Daffodil Day means and why we are raising money for the Cancer Society. We looked at the cancer society website link http://www.cancernz.org.nz/

Miss Suze shared a story about her good friend in Wellington who has breast cancer and has had the cancer cut out and is having chemotherapy every month to fight against the nasty cancer in her body. Miss Suze's friend doesn't feel very good right now and all her hair has fallen out and she wears a wig.
Tody is daffodil day and it is for the cancer society. The cancer society is about if somebodys got cancer and they are getting sick they have to go to hosptile and they have to get checked out. At my house by the garden I have some daffodils I only got 2 daffdoils and 4 more are growing in my garden.

Yay! It's daffodil day.Celebrating cancer society.This day is for the people who have cancer.Theres all types of cancers like Melanoma,Breast Cancer and a lot more .Daffodils are the first flowers in spring.Miss O'neil had Melanoma cancer and she was very strong and brave.

I think she had cancer on her hand thats why people around the world fundraise for people that have cancer. Miss oneil has melanoma which is a type of cancer. She has cancer on her forehead so she had a piece of her thigh cut out to go into her forehead.

It is daffodil day today and I wish that I had bought a daffodil and brang it to school.There are lots of cancers in the world including melanoma,breast cancer and skin cancer.Miss O'neil has melanoma and has had to have her skin cut out of her head.The daffodil Stands for hope in1 out of 3 people.In my life I hope not to have cancer.I really love my family and I hope they do not have cancer too.

Today it was daffodil day and some of the money that is raised on daffodil day, goes to the cancer society from people buying bandanas, and plastic daffodils and sometimes real daffodils.And most of the money that goes to the cancer society is spent on things to try and find a cure for the people that have cancer.And people that donate are helping people that have cancer.And it is real nice to donate and try and help people that have cancer.

the daffodil is one of the first flowers of spring, I like daffodils because my cousin likes the colour yellow and my teacher is wearing a yellow board t-shirt. everyone is wearing yellow t-shirts, shorts and wearing flowers on there heads and they get to go on the stage and take a photo. daffodils a simile to sunflowers.

Today is daffodil day everyday I would think about my family that had past away. My papa died because he had this really bad cancer we would look after he all the time.

Daffodils have been chosen because its the first flower of spring and its yellow petals represents the joy season brings to the people. The reason why we raise money is to help the cancer people but also to help the people who is trying to find a cure to cancer. people were yellow clothes for daffodil day as well. people were daffodils made out of material or fresh from the garden to help too. by Nandani
