Last term, Simon from the Wise Group brought about 50 adults to talk to us about our future and vision for Hamilton when we are adults.
Simon and Nick returned to thank Kauri team for their help.

They gave us a cool card with a hover car on it and then told us they were giving each class in
Kauri Team a
CHROME BOOK!

We were so excited!

Happy

I love it when my students arrive at school in the morning and greet me with their gorgeous smiles.

It's fun taking selfies too! (The girls were giving me advice on how to take a good selfie).

Project Energize - Cooperative Games

Once again, we are lucky enough to have Erin from Project Energize in to teach us some cool new cooperative games.

Erin put us into even teams. The task was to take turns running up to a cone and collecting two puzzle pieces to return to our group. Once we had all the pieces we had to work together to solve the puzzle.

We had four triangles, four circles, four hexagons and four squares.

Each set of shapes were four different colours. That is we had one red, one blue, one black and one pink triangle.

Then we had to work together to put one of each shape in a line horizontally. So you were supposed to end up with four rows that had each shape but with different colours. This was so tricky. We had to work together and listen to other opinions and decide on a plan on how to solve the problem.

Next we had to wear blindfolds, connect to the person in front by holding their shoulders. We had to listen to our leader direct us without breaking the chain or crashing into anything.
Our leader said it was quite difficult to get our class to listen. It was hard to give instructions when the class couldn't see.

We had a lot of fun!

Cricket Skills

Our class loves being active. Over to Dawson to practice our cricket skills.
We were so lucky not only did we improve our skills, but we got a bag, a cricket ball and sunglasses!
And the icing on the cake was to hang out with our friends from Room 11.

Thank you for teaching us new skills and our bag of goodies.

Shake Out!

What is Shake Out?

At 9.15am across New Zealand schools and other work places practiced what to do if there is an earthquake.
You DROP (to the ground),
COVER (your head)
and HOLD (onto the table leg).

Sometimes there is no tables or chairs to shelter under.
