Room 10 have been talking about the different political parties our parents/whanau/caregivers
can vote for in the 2014 Election.
Everyone can vote for who they like
and the party with the most votes wins the election. This party is the Government and the Leader becomes the Prime Minister.
We think every vote is important and you can't moan about things if you don't vote!
You can vote this Saturday the 20th September.
Check out the website link
We have also been thinking about our own parties we would have.....
Good work on the Political work room 10. Keep encouraging your parents and other adults in your families to vote this weekend :-)
ReplyDeleteYes tomorrow is the elections my Mum and Dad are voting for Labour.

You need to be 18 to vote. You choose who you want to vote for then you put your vote in a box, Our class had a vote and labour won. Tomorrow the voting will begin on saturday the 20 of september. The whole point of voting is to get a new prime minister or PM for short also MP means Minister Of Parliament. Once the new prime minister is chosen he/she gets to run the whole of new zealand for 3 whole years then the votes come in next time...

If I was 18 I would vote for labour because Labour is going to make house lower prices.
ReplyDeleteNational wants to take good teachers make them to to another school and make then share there knowledge and I think that is not fair.

I asked my mum about this and mum said in a lot of countries people are forced to vote by being threaten and hurt. I think this is bad. We are lucky that we live in a democracy.

I hope of the 1,000,000 people who didn't vote, they weren't all women, as those ladies 100 years ago worked so hard to get women the vote.

If you didn't vote for any party and you wish you did later on, you can't be disappointed about what the result is and now you wait for another 3 years.
