We have explored the meaning of 'Getting Along With Everyone' in the HES toolkit,
talked about the importance of Waitangi Day and the Treaty of Waitangi
and read the 'Tree Hut Treaty'.
We think a treaty is a list of promises that you make so that both sides are
happy living together. Without a treaty and a set of rules we thought there
might be chaos and mayhem in our class!!
Below are some of the ideas we brainstormed (in small groups) as being the most important promises to make to each other.
We found that quite a few ideas came up in each others 'Top 5' - respect,
manners, including everyone, kindness, ask for help, think before you do,
show you are responsible, be positive, share, tell the truth and
make sure everyone's happy!
Watch this space for the next stage of our Class Treaty - the tea staining and flame grilled edges to make our treaty look like the Treaty of Waitangi treaty.

ReplyDeleteTreaties are really important because everyone might be naughty
From Tylah-Dawnn
I think treaties are great because everybody knows the rules, and agrees to them.
