"Homework, when are we getting homework?"

Homework for Room 10 starts today.
Learning doesn't just happen at school it happens all the time and even at home too!

Writing Ideas
  • Writing a story for 20 minutes to build up your stamina for writing.
  • Illustrate your writing, write a little bit each day and then on Friday you can draw a picture and bring it in to show Miss Suze.
  • Be creative and make a homework book to write in.
  • Use kids blog and post your stories/writing.
  • Make a book and make it about yourself and put it in the library in our class.
  • You can go on storybird and write a booklet.
  • Write an email to someone in your family and tell them about school.
  • Write the shopping list for Mum this week.

Spelling Ideas
  • Write 5 sentences and use your spelling words.
  • Someone in your family can test you on your spelling words.
  • Look, Cover, Spell and repeat.
  • Search the word on the internet.
  • Spelling websites that build up your vocabulary. 
Reading Ideas
  • You can take your HES library book home to read but bring it back every day!
  • You can read whenever you have spare time and after you have finished your other homework.
  • Snuggle up in bed and read for 20 minutes before you go to sleep.
  • Read the newspaper with your family and talk about it.
  • Read a book or a magazine on the toilet.
  • Read or listen to books and stories on the computer if you have one.
  • Read the HES blogs and other childrens writing (kidsblog)
  • You can read magazines.
  • You can read the HES newsletter.
Maths Ideas
  • Practice times tables with flash cards, 2 dice and times them, xtramaths.com website
  • Maths websites online, lots of links are on our class blog.
  • Get your family to write down some sums or equations for you to work out.
  • Play Yahtzee, monopoly or cards with your family.
  • Help your parents when you go shopping at the supermarket and look at prices.
