Favourite places at Hamilton East School

The first day of a new year at Hamilton East School. Room 10 went on a tour of the school and found a few places that we really love to learn and play in our school.

Here is what we had to say.........

Putikitiki

We play soccer, rugby, touch and t-ball here.
We talk in the shade.
We play on the tyre swing.
We play master tag.
We learn how to do handstands and cartwheels.
We have whanau sports together.
We lie on the grass and look at the sky.

We wear our hats!
We get better at kicking over the goal.
We chat to teachers.
We make up our own games using our imaginations.
We sit at the picnic tables and share ideas. We take our shoes off and feel the grass beneath our feet.
We make new friends.
We sit on the steps.
We play tiggy on the playground.
We learn new games.

The Swimming Pool
We like getting into the cold water on a hot day.
We learn to float on our front and back.
We learn to get into the water safely.
We learn to use noodles and flutterboards to help us float.
We love swimming at lunchtime because we can just play.

We love blowing big bubbles under the water.
We like swimming with our friends.
We like racing against each other.
We like learning new swimming games.
We learn how to breath properly.
We know we have to look at the sky when we are on our backs.
We listen to the teacher when she blows the whistle.
We like dolphin diving.
We make whirl pools then float around on them.
We know the pool rules are for our safety.
We love swimming when we're at After School Care.

The Big Slide

We can go down fast!
We take turns.
We can play with our friends.
We can play on our own.
We fly off the bottom.
We sit on our hats!
We make trains.
We get to middle flat quicker.
We go down the slide and up the stairs.
We make up games.
The slide is great fun!
