Portraits

At Hamilton East School every class learns about sketching. We understand about whispering, talking and shouting pencils, which is about how much pressure we put on the lead of our pencil. We learn how to use different techniques for shading.
This year all senior students are wearing masks so we often do not get to see what our classmates look like until we are outside. We have been sketching ourselves with and without our masks. A lot of care has been taken to produce quality work.

  1. What amazing art works Room 8. I love how you've shown masks and no masks as it's a really important part of your history (and herstory). I can see you've been doing a lot of practising with a whispering, talking and shouting pencil.
    Ka pai!

    1. I have been really impressed with the students that have completed their self portraits. There has been so much effort, detail and care put into their work. I can't wait for everyone else to come back to school and finish their portraits too.
