Self Portraits - Part One

There was a few steps to be able to get to the final art piece.
First we placed a piece of paper over the top of an A4 head shot photo of ourselves, so that we could trace the outline of our head, faces and shoulders. We found it easier to lean on a window to be able to see the picture more clearly.
Next we went over the pencil with black sharpie.

Math Time.

Math time is always fun. I see many focussed learners.
Learning how to use the 100's board to help count in 2's, 5's and 10's.

Learning new math games with a buddy.

Working together.

Lots of different math games to choose from.

Geek Out

Geek Out is a time to explore technology to help us with our learning. We can increase our knowledge on how to use Chrome books more effectively, use the iPad to create books and movies. We can use the maker space in Room 10 in a creative way. We can work with our friends in other classes to learn how to juggle, play new games, share our ideas and to read.

Chilling on the bean bags, reading with a friend.

Board Games with friends in Room 9.

Maker Space.

Choosing the best place to sit - sometimes it's the couch, sometimes the whiteboard table.

Learning how to juggle.

Playing cards.

Mindfulness - About the brain

What is a neuron?
Where do we find them?
Did you know that we have between 60-90 billion neurons in your brain?
If you counted to 1 billion it would take 33 years.
It would take about 1980 years to count to 60 billion

Neuroplasticity

Neurons create pathways.

We create pathways in our brain.
We need to shape and create our thoughts so that we have stronger pathways and then we believe the positive emotions that make us a better person.

It is important to tell ourselves good things.

eg I am really good at maths.

Mindfulness helps us to grow strong pathways to focus.

We love writing

We are always keen to write and even more excite when we have some great motivation. We watched a clip about Pandas and then had to choose a perspective to write from, either the panda or the zookeeper.
