Kauri Assembly 3rd July

Last Wednesday was another fun Kauri Assembly. We do so much singing and dancing and sharing.

Some of the children in Room 10 wish it could go on for longer!

Here is the photo of our wonderful certificate winners for the week. There were a few invisible ones that needed fairy dust sprinkled on them!

Simple Machines

As part of our Inquiry Unit - Time Machine - we went for a visit to the Waikato Museum.
We had lots of fun with Ray finding out how simple machines work particularly in toys.

We then had the opportunity to go upstairs to Exscite for a play and to discover how things work for ourselves.

Hip Hip Moves By Lacey and Luciana

Last Friday we created a movie based on the School Journal Story Library book we read
called Hip Hop Moves.
The strategy we use for our reading responses is to 'take it or make it' when creating an image.
We chose to make a movie. We hope you enjoy our video.

Team Player

This week, the Koura reading group read 'Team Player'.

Their goal was to read fluently and with expression.

Our Buddy Class

Every Friday before morning tea, Room 10 and Room 13 get together to learn.

We sing and read stories and sometimes we share exciting news.

Kauri Cricket skills

In Term 1, the whole of the Kauri Team took part in cricket skills training. We had so much fun learning to throw, catch and bat in a lot of different ways.

Last week Janice from http://hamiltoncricket.co.nz came to our Kauri Team assembly and presented us with Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates. We were so proud to receive these awards.
