Making Pesto for Harvest Festival

Our school garden had lots of produce in it. There were beans, pumpkins, potatoes, tomatoes, sunflowers and herbs. With the harvest festival coming up we had to decide what we would make to share with others in the school.
We decided to use the basil to make pesto.

We picked lots of basil leaves and washed them.

We needed garlic and pine nuts to go into the food processor.

The food processor chops and mixes all the ingredients together.

Finished product! One jar of pesto.
Recipe:
2 cups fresh basil leaves
1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
1/2 c extra virgin olive oil
1/3 cup pine nuts
2 garlic gloves
salt and pepper
Mix together in a food processor.

We left the cheese out as there are some kids at our school who can't eat dairy.

  1. That pool looks a bit deep don't you think? It must have been freezing. Raedence room15
