We have been reading Piano Rock - by Gavin Bishop, which we really enjoyed. We especially liked the chapters Swimming Lessons and Monday Was Washing Day. We have written some stories about these topics and added our own art work. We hope you enjoy listening to them.
Kia ora koutou. We are a group of Year 5 & 6 tauira at Kirikiriroa ki te Rāwhiti. Whaea Kat is our kaiako and we love to share our learning journey on our class blog. Maths Sprints
Sprints is a game that we love playing in Room 10. It helps us get better at our times tables.
Here are the instructions of how to play it so you can get better at your times tables too. Have fun!
1. Rule up a 6x6 graph
2. Put the times tables that you want to learn along the top and down the side.
3. Put an 'x' on the top left corner. This is what you times each number by.
4. You only have 3 minutes to complete this graph so you need to be as speedy as possible!
5. Get someone who really knows their times tables to check the answers for you.
6. The aim is to finish under 3 mins as well as getting them all correct.
We have got better and better since we first started. Some of us can finish in less than 45 seconds!!!
Have a go and let us know how you do.

Keeping Ourselves Safe
We learnt so many things about being safe during KOS. We know that it is really important to tell someone if something bad happens to us, if something 'yucky' pops up on our computer screen, if someone touches us in a place on our body that they are not allowed to and we know never to give out personal information to someone that we have met online.
We learnt about TAR - which means: Think, Ask, Remember.
We learnt about STAR - which means: Stop, Think, Act, Report.
Here are some of the posters we have made that show what we think is important to share. Some of us are still working on our posters.

In The Beginning
During Maori Language Week, Room 10 read the story In the Beginning. We loved the illustrations and the text so decided to recreate it and turn it into a movie. It was a whole class effort but a big thank you to Emily and Sydney for the work that you did to make the final product.
We hope that you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it.
